‘No room for dealing’
Saar Philips is a Belgian multidisciplinary artist. Drawing from her interest in both visual art and music and sound, as well as her background in vocals, she creates work that connects these two worlds. She works with the medium of photo/video, sound installations, ceramic objects and painting. She is fascinated by the intrinsic sound of 'lost' or found objects and enjoys playing with expectation, fiction and alienation. Her work is an invitation to take a critical and ironic view on the relationship between people and the (non-) living organisms around them/us.
Saar Philips is een Belgisch multidisciplinair kunstenaar. Vanuit haar interesse voor zowel beeldende kunst als muziek en geluid, en haar achtergrond in zang, maakt ze werk dat deze twee werelden verbindt. Ze werkt met het medium foto/video, geluidsinstallaties, keramische objecten en schilderkunst. Ze is gefascineerd door het intrinsieke geluid van 'verloren' of gevonden objecten en speelt graag met verwachting, fictie en vervreemding. Haar werk is een uitnodiging tot een kritische en ironische blik op de relatie tussen mensen en (niet-) levende organismen om hen/ons heen.
